Raising the Profile of Pre-K: A National Strategy Session (2007 Conference Viewing Site)
On Wednesday, October 17th 11:10am join Mayor Slay's Early Childhood Success Steering Committee, Vision for Children at Risk, KETC St. Louis Public Television and hundreds of other local child advocates participate in a live broadcast of the Pre-K Now 2007 Conference "Raising the Profile of Pre-K: A National Strategy Session".

Hosted by award –winning broadcast journalist Leon Harris, WJLA ABC 7 anchor, this live broadcast will feature interview with several leading policymakers and early care and education advocates/experts including: Senator Robert P. Casey (PA), Senator Hillary R. Clinton (NY), Bill Bentley, President & CEO of VOICES for America's Children, Kathy Patterson, Federal Policy Director, Pre-K Now and others.

The conference will highlight strategies to make pre-k a priority and winning issue in local communities, statewide and at the federal level.

Discussion on current and future local efforts around voluntary, universal pre-k will be held after the satellite broadcast.

Directions: Free Parking Lot on Olive Street-directly to the east of KETC on Olive Street. From I-64/US40 or 44, exit at Grand Blvd and go north. Follow Grand, then take a left on Olive Street. The lot is on the north side of the street just after the Continental Building. Free Parking Lot on Washington Avenue-directly behind KETC on Washington Street. From I-64/US40 or 44, exit at Grand Blvd and go north. Follow Grand, take a left on Washington Street. The lot is on the left side of the street just after the Sheldon Theater. You will enter KETC through the gate on the side of the building. Handicapped Parking: KETC has a small, gated lot adjacent to the station. From I-64/US40 or 44, exit at Grand Blvd and go north. Follow Grand, then left on Olive. KETC is on the right. At the gated entrance to the lot, press the intercom button and the receptionist will answer.
